Reminds me of Dead Mans Shoes...

Anyone agree?

Like the same storyline but with a twist, Brothers revenge for the death

That's all really.

I totally agree I avoided Dead Man's Shoes as thought it would be same, but it's better imo.

Dead mans shoes was first wasn't it?

This movie reminded of Dead Man's Shoes from the get go. Both are amazing revenge flicks that dig deeper than the average "Kill Bill" massacre plot.

Dead Man's Shoes was one year later (2004).

There may be some similarity in the plotlines but that's where it ends. Dead Man's Shoes is a mini-masterpiece whereas this is a piece of s**t.

Worth seeing only for Charlotte Rampling's 'performance'. To describe her acting as one dimensional would be too give it too much credit. How does this woman still get work?

Two similar storylines two completely different films.

This one is more underplayed and almost 'film noir' (almost).

I really liked it, though likely intentional I thought it lacked a bit of 'oomph'.

Not really. Its not a patch on Dead Man's Shoes in my honest opinion.

Paddy Considines performance is a lot more foreboding and quietly threatening than anything Clive Owen could ever imagine.

Actually "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" has a pretty decent cast but doesn't come near the grittiness of Dead Man's Shoes. Maybe it's because almost all the actors from Dead Man's Shoes performed virtually in their first acting role. Not to mention Shane Meadows almost amateur, home video type directing which gives it great quality and realism.

I know what you're getting at though.
