Where's it supposed to be set?

Have only just seen this movie on TV. Didn't think much of it, but was particularly intrigued as to where it's supposed to take place. The writer of the review featured on the IMDb main page assumes it's London; but it looked more like a provincial city to me, and characters kept referring to Will (Clive Owen) having returned to "the city", without giving it a name. If it WAS intended to be London, then this was just another weak aspect of the film, along with the creaky plot, plodding pace, feeble ending, and characters so old fashioned and clichéd that only the use of a mobile phone made one realise that it was supposed to be present day.

I wouldnt consider the plotline to be THAT bad, lol. It was weak that was entirely based around a suicide itself based on bu**ery, and there wasnt like a red herring in the mix to reveal some deeper, other problem, but I wouldnt say it was that bad.

And it was London. Presumably the East, with the strong cockney twangs. Then again, I saw a street sign with SW6 on, which is like Fulham and that way on, and that's quite a nice area. I mean google it! London prices INDEED.
The ferry place with Stena Line exists, just to note aswell. It's in Harwich, Essex, and I caught the ferry there this February with my college year to Rotterdam. Yes, my college took students just over 16 to Amsterdam. Yes, they're insane. It was so weird though, seeing the place on television where I'd had my ar*e sniffed.

It was set in Brixton which is SW9.
Davey asks the first taxi driver if he could take him (home)to Brixton, then gets into that orange one.

The main part of the film IS set in London, but at the beginning Clive Owen is in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The bit (I'll keep using that because they're not scenes as such) where he's driving that guy home to his wife is somewhere around Fishguard. This is only really a guess - the ferry in the background is a clue - but the terminal and, a little later, the Royal Oak are definitely in Fishguard.

The bit where he leaves a telephone box, crosses the road to his van (which he'd earlier driven the wrong way up a one-way street) and drives up and to the right to go back on himself is Haverfordwest, the county town (i.e. 'capital') of Pembrokeshire. You can clearly see a sign saying 'Dark Street', and the road he drives UP is the High Street. I know this because that telephone box is directly opposite to the flat I moved out of last summer.

The restaurant Charlotte owns in the film is called Cigala which is addressed 54 lambs conduit st, bloomsbury london. However this still does not prove the films setting, as we all know, most movies use locations that are named other than in reality. they serve good nosh there too! (no i dont own the place!)

This was set in london .. actually in SE24/sw9 borders in particular a place called Loughborough Junction which is the grubbier end of Brixton. He comes out of a Grub-up type cafe that is situated very near me .. I can call it that as I do live there. Never saw them filming tho? Still any scenes I was in, I would have stolen from Clive Owen (LOL)
