In the beginning he's like 18-feet tall, but at the funeral he's about 7 and a half.

Just like the Chinese chicks seperate each other.

There's a pinch of truth in all of Eds stories, but a bit of creative liberties here and there.

Somehow I didn't notice that the chicks had separated - my eyes were blurry from crying so hard! But weren't they Japanese or Korean? Those are the countries we were at war with, when Ed was a soldier.

Yeah its what Daniel says.
Part of the point is that the son thinks his Dad is a liar, but comes to realize he was just an exaggerater. There was the basic truth at the heart of most of his stories

That's the whole point of the funeral scene - of course Karl isn't 18 feet tall, but he is a giant and 7 feet is tall enough to play a part in a circus...which, of course, also existed. The Siamese twins were never joined, again that's the whole point.
