The Naked Lady In The Lake

I finally got around to watching this movie for the first time. I can't believe I missed it for so long, I absolutely loved it!

However, I was wondering, who do you think the naked lady in the lake is or represents?

And the second time when he encounters her underwater, there's a small interaction and she swims off. I'm just curious if anyone knows or has any ideas about this mysterious character.

The lady in the lake has always been Sandra Bloom. As HBC's character (forgot her name) says, she's the only lady in his life and everyone else morphs into one. That's why, anachronistically, she also plays the witch from early in his life as if to make this point.

Ahh of course! I don't know why I didn't pick up on that. Thank you for the thoughtful response and insight!

I actually don't understand completely what you said lol (facepalm)
Could you please explain a bit more?

You don't watch Nolan movies, they watch you!

Isn't Jenny supposed to be the witch?

reply

Yes there's foreshadowing and symbolism in the fish plus Jenny grows up to be the witch because Edward twisted the non chronological stories to become "tall tales."

I did wonder if she referenced the Lady of the Lake in Arthurian legend. Ed Bloom does seem to gain a certain mythic power after encountering her.
