anyone else bored from this movie?

couldnt stand it
havent been able to get through the movie.
tried many occasions, cant do it.

reply

this movie isn't great you are right, but you must have the attention span of a 5 year old for not being able to sit through a movie (after many attempts), or maybe you're spoiled as a person

either/or

reply

I got bored and turned it off. I can sit through movies. I sat through Coraline, which I enjoyed. But in Big Fish I suppose I was waiting for something substantial to happen or some insight to be presented, and got nothing. It seemed like an artsy movie for the sake of it, which is fine, but not for me.

reply

You'd have to be insane NOT to love this movie, let alone like it!

reply

Ok, I don't LOVE it, but it is a good movie - and very entertaining. I think the OP just didn't 'get it'. But then, (s)he doesn't seem to have the attention span to see a story unroll.

reply

are you trying to provoke people to hate this movie???
i love this movie. it's beautiful, touching & food for imagination.
maybe you are not an imaginative person, so this movie is not for you i guess

reply

its like forest gump without the interesting plot and characters

Fear Can Hold You Prisoner, Hope Can Set You Free

reply

i think Big Fish had a better ending

reply

I thought of Forest Gump too. This movie is not horrid - but it's unbelievable in more ways than the obvious.

I liked the visuals but the story was boring. No interesting themes, no interesting moral. What was the point? I get that stories are good to pass from generation to generation, I understand people's tendency to embellish in past experiences, blah blah, but who *beep* cares? Is this really an idea that needs to be explored? Really empty, vapid movie. Don't get all the love for it at all.

reply

Are you trying to provoke people to like this movie, even if they don't?
I don't like this movie. It's boring, drawn out, and difficult to piece together.
Maybe you are too much of a sensitive person, so the original poster's opinion is not for you, I guess.

See? It can go both ways.

 I like people who sit through movies like these, which pretend to be fantastic, and think it's brilliant, and then proceed to tell anyone who gets bored by how pedestrian they really are, that they "don't have an imagination". Like Harry Potter or this.

What's imaginative about this movie? A tall guy turned into a "giant"? Zzzzzz
Maybe it's because we have more imagination than you and we don't need a movie to engage it. Sitting through movies that paint you the whole picture doesn't make you imaginative. On the contrary.

Read a book and live with it. Then talk about imagination.

This was the best movie to fall asleep on! I slept like a baby

reply

I wasn't exactly bored by it, just really frustrated. It was a great storyline, but it fell flat due to poor characters and acting.

reply

THIS MOVIE SUCKS THE BIG ONE

reply

You guys are freaking jerks.

reply

I agree. I blame Ewan Mcgregor. He is far too weak a leading actor to carry a film. His performance was beyond dull.

reply

Then you need to see Trainspotting.

Did you say 'poor acting'? I disagree whoeheartedly.

Not one of Burton's best but not his worst either. Scissorhands, Beetles Juice are great but this one is so-so. Some very good humor but some mediocre acting and weak dialouge. Visually stimulating much of the time. A bit sentimental. Not trying provoke anyone to hating or loving it--just an opinion people. Think as you like!

Nope.... I love it.

reply

This movie is one of my favorites ever! Boring parts and all.

reply

you are lack of some senses. thats why. don't bother, just try to watch saw series.

This movie was freakin' awesome! And Ewan McGregor was fantastic, as always. Not to mention every time he came on screen...well...you know what I mean. I really enjoyed this movie, and this movie is something for people who think Tim Burton always does the 'Gothic thing'. I don't get why people don't like it. I mean...is it because you where expecting the 'Gothic thing' which is what most people come to expect when watching a Burton movie, or the fact that you can't watch this with an open mind? The movie is genious, McGregor is fantastic, quit slating it.

Yeah I am surprised that I made it to the end actually. I love fantasy and wanted to like this one. Visually it was good, the idea was also good. The dad experiencing this adventure was in my eyes pretty cocky so I didn't really feel sympathy for him. It felt like the dad wanted to tell the audience how special and fantastic he was, ugh. Unfortunately the other characters weren't worked out really well either and I kept wondering where the director wanted to take this movie and for me it ended up nowhere.
People who liked it, good for u but I can't stomach to watch it again...

And this is why we should proofread before we criticize the intelligence of others.

reply

Boring: well yeah, some parts of the movie are a lil boring.
All in all,its a good movie,visually stunning.

reply

yes, absolutely a snooze-fest.

would have been helped immeasurably by some car chases, and a gunfight or two.

and more explosions. big explosions. michael bay sized explosions.

instead they wasted all their money on magical special effects and fine acting. that's just stupid, if you ask me.

reply

I generally find this argument pretty presumptuous, but I have to say that I really can't understand being bored by this film unless this is exactly what one was looking for.

It was an entertaining, generally fun and lighthearted film (though it certainly gets a but sentimental towards the end). I'm not sure why people can't enjoy it for what it is, let alone be so bored by it as to fail to complete on multiple viewings.

reply

lol phantom, i agree. I guess subtlety is lost on some people! I wish there were more subtle thought provoking films made like Big Fish, I can see it would'nt be for everyone.
