Most actors play several roles in the show. But,for example Emma Thompson is credited "Nurse Emily/...". What is this "..."? She obviously plays that Angel as well,so what's with the "..."?
The same for Meryl Streep and some others.

You don't understnad it because in the main page of the movie,the actors are seemed to portray only one character. But if you go here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318997/fullcredits#cast ,you may understand.

IMDb pages are not well set up for TV series or miniseries in which actors portray more than one character (and that doesn't happen very often anyway).
If you click on Episodes Cast, you will see everyone's roles.
