Great series, writing, direction and acting

I know..."yeah, duh". Little late on the bandwagon and appreciation, but finally watched in full. Annoyed by Louis and/or Shenkman's performance, but maybe that's intended. I can see now why Kushner received so much praise and adulation upon AIA's debut and run on stage in New York. His narrative construction and throwing in all these different techniques and genres into one play was genius, innovative and radical. Along with incredible dialogue and religious minutia.

Louis was supposed to be annoying because he was a fickle wimp who bolted at the first sign of trouble. But that's his character arc. He matured into someone better.
