Is HIV/AIDS cured? (SARCASM)...where are the networks and Obama and Dems

Watched AIA last night and it occurred to me like a thunderbolt...where is the coverage now?! With MSNBC as a major network of advocacy journalism, BRAVO and other networks with pro-gay programming, and continuing coverage on same sex marriage and gays in the military. And where are the Dems and the Obama Adm.? Bush and Republicans...I get it, although he did provide support and aid to Africa more than I thought he would. I know things are not as they used to be...but it just seems like no coverage at all anymore.

Not cured, but with modern drugs it is now a very survivable disease and no longer a death sentence. What sort of media coverage do you feel is missing?

Exactly. People are a lot less ignorant about the disease now than they were back then.

Yes, people think now they can have mindless, unprotected sex whenever they want because, hey, HIV can be cured now!

It can't. It can be suppressed, and you can live a more or less normal life, but you will be dependent on drugs all your life, they may stop working, and they come with considerable side effects.
