I mean how he killed John Bridger and tried to kill the rest of his crew, made me hate him so much, that him to go just from a gunshot would be nothing compared to what he did. And when Mashkov said "Don't worry I'm not gonna shoot you. No I'm gonna take you to my workplace. I think you'll be very interested in some of the machinery I use. I think you know what he meant. It was such a relief.

Rumours of the sequel could star Edward Norton or at least his character Steve so possible he got away and the gory retribution you crave may not of happened after all.

There is no sequel. The sequel was cancelled. Also what you read was only ideas of imdb users of how the sequel may have been. He wasn't casted in the sequel which was cancelled.
