It's a rave?

First of all, they did not look like teenagers going to a rave. They looked at least 24 years old. They were not dressed like they were going to a rave, they were wearing Nike sneakers and nerdy clothes. They looked like they were going to dinner at the Olive Garden. Furthermore, it was my understanding that raves were held in some random place like a warehouse from 11 p.m. until dawn. I thought they were drug filled dancing parties. This "rave" was held in mid-afternoon to early evening like a festival. The premise is ridiculous. Why not just say some 20 something people were heading to a weekend rock festival only to encounter crazed zombies. I would've bought it better that way.

It's not unusual for summer outdoor events to run all weekend, and have multiple stages and live acts, which isn't unlike a festival, except with a higher proportion of DJs to live acts. And they are attended by a range of people ranging from young people who just want to party, die-hard candy-ravers wearing plush animal backpacks and phat pants, university students who write scholarly papers on dance music culture, and various sorts of neo-hippies and drug mystics. And local saw-mill workers who happened to be camping in the area and know a good party when they see one.

Other movies I haven't seen yet that probably get raves hilariously wrong are "Beyond The Rave" and "Return Of The Living Dead: Rave To the Grave".
