I guess you win one Oscar you didn't deserve and you tend to get greedy for another. Cuba's over-acting here was a little to eager for that second Oscar. He had the extra drool, bucked his teeth out, and everything.

The Radio you see in the end is the Radio 26 years after the time of the movie. Maybe Radio was more like Cuba Gooding's acting at the younger age, who knows. Anyway, i agree that the acting was a bit over the top, and it backfired to him. Pretty good movie anyways
