Simply, a great movie.

I saw the sneak preview of Two Weeks Notice on Saturday, and it was great. The audience reaction was really good too. So I am predicting this film to do the same thing that Maid in Manhattan did, in terms of box office intake. Its unfortunate that Two Weeks Notice is being released the same weekend as LotR and Gangs of New York, and only a week after the similar Maid in Manhattan.

However, word of mouth will be strong for Two Weeks Notice. It is a great movie. VERY funny. I defiently reccomend you see it ASAP.

Will someone fire the people in charge of advertising this? Will someone look at the movie poster and tell me what the hell the marketing department was thinking?

This was the worst movie I saw all year. Totally unfunny, and I'm getting sick of Sandra Bullock's little conceit of trying to tell us she's unattractive to males - "The Net","28 Days", "While You Were Sleeping", "Miss Congeniality", need I go on?

If you didn't find this movie funny, then perhaps you need to do 2 of the following?

1. Check your pulse
2. You need a sense of humour transplant, coz yours is dead.

reply

Zantina_1 has it completely right!!

I thought that it was so funny!!

I saw the movie twice and I still cracked up the second time. To me it wasn't one of those funny only one time movies. I really liked it!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my pulse. The film simply stinks. It had all the earmarks of the work of a first year film student with little or no promise. By the way, it did not escape my notice that Sandra Bullock produced this atrocious film.

The acting was wooden, the dialog contrived, the music pacing was abrupt. What did they do for the music, simply play records into the soundtrack?

Some fool on the IMDB actually had the audacity to compare it to the works of Tracey and Hepburn. Not a chance in hell! Give it up, it was bad!

reply

Could not agree more. If anyone has any doubt
as to how limited Sandra Bullock's range is
this was proof positive. A romantic comedy
with no real comedy,no chemistry between the
two boring leads, and no real surprises. I was
extremely bored and laughed at just how awful
and predictable it was.

Hi there,

Thank God! Clearly you have a brain that can discern the difference between quality and crap. And believe me, this was crap! Could you believe those who thought this film was the best work either of the two stars have done? One even had the audacity to compare this film to the Spencer - Hepburn films of the 40's and early 50's. Really! What the hell was he or she either drinking or smoking at the time?

i thought it was funny, but not THAT funny. ive seen much funnier before and some parts of it were corny, but all in all i thought it was a good movie.

reply

I agree completely. This movie stunk.

Totally dissappointed.

(And before you all start telling me to take my pulse, I have excellent movie taste....have been told so, and damn well know so. I'm curious why this movie has dragged on for over an hour now, when it could have ruined my night in 30 minutes flat.

And to the other people making comments, re : Hugh Grant, About A Boy WAS an excellent movie, and I highly suggest that one over this one.

Luckily, I rented this movie for free due to a coupon I had for Blockbuster, so I don't feel bad like I would had I spent money on it.

Movies these days are really crummy. (Anything Kevin Smith touches excluded)

My god this movie (to me) was exactly the opposite! i found it very boring

reply

I found it very boring too. In fact, I started nodding off in the middle of it.....and I NEVER do that during movies.

reply

I agree, Now I don't know about you but I've been a little tired of Sandra Bullock movies as of late. She hasn't lost her charm but hard to enjoy her next to flat leading men like Benjamin Brat (no wonder Julia dumped him), But let me tell you Two Weeks Notice is a great Sandra Bullock movie. Hugh Grant has played the warm British type so many times he was getting a little flat, but in the last few years he found a whole new way to shine. First, in his great About a Boy and this pairing with Sandra B. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the romantic comedy type of guy, but this movie is fun to watch. Sandra Bullock is as hot as ever and her pairing with Hugh Grant is as strong as her pairing with Mr. Reeves in the classic Speed. As with Speed this movie is carried by its wit. Sandra is smart again for once and so is the script. Like last years Legally Blonde the script takes convention and bends it in great ways. Sure it still has the standard happy twist in the end, but what Romantic movie in the past few years has a compulsive over-eater and man who needs help dressing himself as leads. Plus, when Sandra tries to get fired it is wicked funny. Overall I was quite surprised with this movie its neurotic, yet, charming, but ultimately irresponsible characters are funny. As I a last note it was great to see a romance that takes place over the course of a year rather than a few days. It's both cute and funny.

I won't trust ur frigin opinions anymore dudes.. i've seen other comments and posts saying that movies were boring but they were actually great .
e.g Triple X , James bond any many other movies . Basically on every good movie u see some bad comments .. All the movies , i saw of Sandra Bullock and Hugh grand were great .. IF U DON'T like THIS TYPE OF MOVIES don't go and see them , get a life instead .. No really , before seing a movie u should already know that u will like it and not just see it cuz u don't have anything better to do..

And i think the trailer on this movie is pretty clear about how this movie it's gonna be..I hope i made myself clear.

just my 2 cents.

This was REALLY funny! AND GIRLS! My hubby even liked it :)
He hasn't liked a romantic comedy since Notting Hlll, and he liked this one.

I think Sandra is great, you can tell she doesn't take herself too seriously, not many of hollywood's actresses can pull off the physical humor (running into things, tripping...etc...) nor will they try for fear of breaking a nail ;P

I really have to disagree. This film was amazing and really funny. Grant and Bullock really go out in this film in full to make the audience laugh. And everyone in the cinema was laughing when something funny happened. When we were going out of the cinema there were so many good comments, so the people saying that it was boring and rubbish need their head sorted as this was the best film I have seen since LOTR and Catch Me If You Can.

!!!!Website was great by the way!!!!

I thought the movie was pretty good, considering the script. There were some funny parts but also some very cliche parts but i still enjoyed myself. Not the worst movie i've seen but not the best either. I though tthe chemistry was pretty good between grant and bullock. well anyway i enjoyed it so that's all i have to say:)

Whew!! After reading all these postings, and many other Sandra postings on other topics, I decided to limit my reply. I love Sandra Bullock and everything she does. Plain and simple. I have replied to many different IMDB postings on Sandra. But it is apparent that everybdy is different. The range of opinions on these postings was very extreme. I have this to say.

I do not go to certain kinds of movies that I know I won't like. I used to go to movies a lot and I learned what I like and do not like. I don't go to just any old movie anymore. Now I know what type of movie or what performers to avoid or seek out. If I do go to one of these movies for whatever reason and I end up disliking it, I do not criticise it as I have only myself to blame for going to it. I should have known better. Just because I did not like it does not mean it is a bad movie. Just because I did like it does not mean it is a great movie. It is simply the kind of story or performance that I like. And I don't go to a movie thinking ahead of time, "I hate so-and-so. This movie is going to suck".

Please don't try to bad mouth performers / producers / writers who are just trying to make a movie that they think people will enjoy. They have no way of knowing what you want. Please do not try to ruin someone else's enjoymnet of a movie or performance by being so hateful in your comments. You will not change someone's mind if they already like it. And your hurtful comments will only generate resentment. It is your right to say you did not enjoy a movie and even to say why, but not to say it was horrible or she stinks, etc. That is uncalled for and just your opinion. Have you ever made a movie? Do you know what is involved? How would you like it if you did something that you were proud of and someone decided to tell you that it was terrible and to tell the world that it stunk.

Everybody is different and all tastes are valid. Please keep this in mind the next time you go to a movie. Movies are supposed to be enjoyable, so why waste your time on something you know you won't like??? If you did not know if you would like it or not, just keep your comments to constructive ones, not destructive ones.

Enough said.

Sandra is so cool!
But the Movie sucks!!!

*clap, clap*
Seriously, thanks for saying something intelligent. Just because you hate something doesn't mean that you have to try and force everyone else to feel the same way you do. If that's what you try to do, it's a malicious form of glee that we get from sowing the seeds of doubt in someone's mind. It's just morbid. Don't bash people who like something you don't...just accept that you don't like it and move on, for god's sake.
