that dang philospher

Hey, just caught the movie the other night on TV, and thought it was cute and all. But mostly i remember hearing a quote that rocked my socks off, but missed not only the philospher's name but forgot the quote!!! It was in the scene where sandra bulluck shows up at her friend's or sisters house after the childrens benifit. The friend/sister then says the quote, something to the extent of two people are stronger when they combine thier strengths. But not that cheesey! Anyone know it?!

Thanks

If it's the scene you mentioned, the philosopher named is Sri Yogananda. "Only that which is the other,
gives us fully unto ourselves."
It sounds pretty deep to me. Maybe you can make some sense of it.
