Good movie, but fizzled at the end.

Normally I can't stand romantic comedies, but every now and then one comes along that steps outside the lines. This was the most recent one to do so for me. I really liked the dialogue through most of this movie (the monopoly line was priceless), but the last ten minutes degenerated into chick flick cliche and I was really disappointed. The whole sappy speech/apology/reconciliation and then the bit with lucy running down the street after george and the "leaping embrace" were just awful. it's so disappointing when unique movies give up before the finish line.

I'll say. It was a v. funny movie though!!

You are right on about the end of Two Weeks Notice (I thought that I was the only one who noticed the bad 'chick flick' cliche ending.)

And I'm saying this as a guy who laffs his butt off watching this every time.. and I've watched it a lot! It Is Just Plain Hilarious.

The ending was pretty cheesy what with the running and the hugging, but I think it made up for it with the funny end bit where they are in her apartment ordering takaway.

I know what you're doing... and I like it.
