Hugh's long Tie??


I saw this film again last night.... can someone explain to me why Hugh was wearing a massive tie long at the event he goes to at the end with the end with the redhead girl (before they plays strip chess.

Did I miss something??


p.s I dont recall seeing the long tie the first time I saw the film... maybe im going mad :(

yah it was there before and i thibnk the reason for the long tie was because it was a childrens charity so yah!

It's the theme of the charity event. They're supposed to dress oddly in some way.

George's tie.
Lucy's red nose.
June's top hat.

Although the theme was dressing like a clown, there was a tie-in with the beginning of the movie. At the hospital event, George got several complimentary comments about his tie. ( In the looking glass world of high society it meant just the opposite.) Throughout the movie he was always needing help in picking out his tie.
