I love this film!

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock have great chemistry together.

The dialog is funny and witty.

It reminds me of a 30's Hollywood romantic comedy.

For this film to be rated 5.7 ( I'd expect 7.7 ) I think that public taste has changed greatly, and not for the better.

These are some other romantic comedies I recommend:

Gold Rush (1925) silent
City Lights (1931) silent
Trouble in Paradise (1932)
Twentieth Century (1934)
It Happened One Night (1934)
My Man Godfrey (1936)
Theodora Goes Wild (1936)
The Awful Truth (1937)
Pygmalion (1938)
Love Affair (1939) ; An Affair to Remember (1957) is the remake
Ninotchka (1939)
My Favorite Wife (1940)
The Shop Around The Corner ( 1940 ) ; You've Got Mail (1998) is the remake
Sullivan's Travels (1941)
Palm Beach Story (1942)
To Be or Not to Be (1942) ; the 1983 remake is also good.
Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949)
The Importance of Being Earnest (1952)
Roman Holiday (1953)
Sabrina (1954)
Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) in Swedish
Charade (1963)
That Man From Rio (1964 ) in French
Annie Hall (1977)
Manhattan (1979)
Groundhog Day (1993)
Notting Hill (1999)

This film has really grown on me too - and it is one that I can see over and over again. There is a great chemistry between Pollack and Grant and their different situations are heartening and comical at the same time.

Thanks for the list of films you recommend, Charade and City Lights, are two of my faves too. I wish I could think of some other films myself, but if I do I will add them here.

Thanks!

I loved it too! I can't believe it's rated 5.7 out of 10! Tis ridiculous!

This movie was amazing. I'd never seen Hugh Grant act before, and he was absolutely HILARIOUS!! I could not stop laughing. Really loved it. It deserves more credit.

Serendipity is another cute romantic comedy. I just saw that about a week ago.

I could tell by the look in his eyes that maybe I'm just another one of his lies
