I liked this movie the first time I saw it

and every time since.

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock make a charming and believable couple, NYC style.
The dialogue is clever and witty.

It seems to me that the low rating of this film stems mostly from changes in movie audiences and society. "Two Weeks Notice" was perhaps made 60 years too late; in 1942 it might have been a big hit starring Cary Grant and Jean Arthur. But in 2002 it was much too slow and tame to meet audience expectations.

i agree about the timing...though the first time i saw it, i thought it was awful...i have come around though...

I agree! It's an old school rom com, in the Tracy/Hepburn mold. I'm surprised more people don't like it, since some people complain that most rom coms today have too much raunchiness or sex in it (not that that bothers me), but this one doesn't.
