Law & Order crossover

According to the triva Mr.Monk takes Manhattan was supposed to be a crossover with Law & Order, how cool would that have been?

I don't know how reliable the trivia page is. It also said that Mr. Monk Takes Manhattan was the Season 4 premiere episode, which is incorrect. Manhattan was the season 3 premiere. The season 4 premiere was Mr. Monk and the Other Detective.

Also, L&O and Monk have very different tones, so I'm not sure they would have been good crossover material.

OTher mistakes I found were:
"Monk was one of the few crime shows that show the crime taking place."

I'm sure many mystery shows show the crime taking place. They may not show who committed the crime, but even going back to Columbo, Matlock, etc., you usually saw a gloved hand and a scream or some such thing.

Monk sometimes/usually showed who the MURDERER was, and Monk had to figure out how the murderer committed the crime, which changed the mystery from a "whodunit" to a "howdunit".

"This was the first show that the USA network filmed in the US. All previous shows were filmed in Canada."

The first season of Monk was filmed in Canada, all the other seasons were filmed in the US

"The show's writers occasionally satirize Monk's near-perfect memory. For example, in "Mr. Monk Goes Back to School" he can't remember if a crime scene on a roof is his 4th or 5th worst nightmare, since he "didn't bring the list"."

I think that was intended to show his numerous fears and phobias and that there is a running list of these fears and phobias somewhere, not his "near perfect memory.

"The police station where Stottlemeyer and Disher work as well as a number of crimes throughout the series are said to be located on Vinton Street in San Francisco. However, the real Vinton is in Madison, New Jersey, where series creator Andy Breckman lives."

Vinton Street was a running gag in the show. Many murders happen on Vinton street, and in the premiere, Sharona told the cabbie to drive her to Vinton Street, so that was presumably where she lived. I don't recall any episode that claimed that the police station was on Vinton St.
