Where did they find this place with million of holes like this in the "Holes"? Is it a real place in the States? Like Texas?

poserpro, they dug the holes with tractors and backhoes and then piled the dirt in one spot on all holes and then filmed at specific times so the kids could act like they've been digging all day even though theu haven't really.
No there's not a real place like that in The US its Hollywood magic.
