If Stanley wanted to leave, why not just murder everyone in camp?
Could have saved him a lot of time and effort digging holes etc.

shareIf he did, he'd have ended up in jail sooner or later.
shareI think killing people is a lot of effort...
Plus, he's not that evil.
Are you out of your Vulcan mind?
It doesn't have to be a lot of effort.
Best thing to have done would have been to kill lots of yellow spotted lizards, and then put the poison from their poison sacks in the camp food supplies at night. That probably would have taken out most of the campers and counselors.
Course there may be a few left like Mr sir,the cafeteria workers,or the warden who don't die from it.But they are easy to finish off in other ways.
Well, yes, I suppose killing everyone wouldn't be all that hard. Stanley is just too good-hearted to do it.
Could be dangerous.
All the timid, picked on,kids seemed good hearted.
But there is always the inner psycho, waiting for the chance to break free.
We should have seen that side of Stanley.Maybe he could have lost it after zigzag punched him,and beat him to a bloody pulp with the shovel.Would have showed the D tent Boyz not to screw with Caveman.
Remind me never to cross the OP.
shareIt isn't that kind of movie.
