Major Deja Vu...

Okay, I recently saw "The Hills have Eyes" and all through the movie, I felt like I had seen it before. A while back, it dawned on me. The movie it reminded me of was the Disapperance because so much stuff went on in the two movies that was alike.
- Both Town's were in the hills and were mining towns in the desert.
- Both had crazy mutant like inhabitants still in the town.
- Both were town's used for Nuclear testing.
- Both had a canyon filled with old cars from passed victims
- Both started the movie with a gas station where the people in it pretended not to know what was going on.

I was also thinking the same thing the entire movie, but hills have eyes was done first..... and at least hills didn't have a retarded ending.

so they copied it, and somehow made it worse. I mean hills wasn't that stunning to begin with.

Yep. I posted a reply in the 'similarities with the hills have eyes' thread just now. The two films are almost the same. I worked on this one and no-one said anything. Either they didn't know or they didn't care. Reviews I read of it didn't even mention the similarity - so perhaps everyone at the time, including myself, forgot all about the original. The reason the ending is so mysterious? Cause it's bad writing! There are about 4 loose threads which are brought up to be mysterious and then never explained. It's honest to god garbage. For the record though, Susan Dey is an absolute delight. She put up with a lot of crap and never complained.

interesting thanks for sharing. Did they talk about the ending at all?
