FUNNIEST SCENE

For me it has to be the scene where Frankie (Keitel) his tied up and calls Joey who thinks he is getting an obscene phone call.

I think the robbery scene when they tie up Keitel is the funniest scene. When Johnny Hallyday calls his boss and says 'Should I call back on my cell phone.'

my pick— the end when albert (short fat well mannered guy) blows up at marcel and yells "why could you not check the money, they have every right to express their emotions with you"— shear brilliance this movie is

This movie is a treasure trove comic gems. One I liked in particular is when the bunch has just arrived, and they're literally sitting on their suitcases on a corner in urban Chicago. When the black gangster guys approach and the ensuing conversation..."If you insist...Now get out of here, before Zero shoots off those raisins you call balls..." or: "Slowly, man, gun on the floor. Don't even think about it, ain't nobody that fast..." "Zero is...BANG!" Right in the forehead, and then the deaf guy: "I FOUND IT!" One more: "If either of you says baseball one more time, Zero will shoot you!" Great stuff.

I think the funniest scene is where they are at the restaurant:

Waitress:Ready to order?

Julient:May we see a wine list please?

Waitress:That's cute.

Sophie:They don't have a wine list.

Julient:Okay, I'll have the house wine.

Waitress:Sure, would you like that before or after your Es Cargo with White Trellace Sauce?

Julient:(long pause) I did not order Es Cargo.

Sami:They don't serve wine here.

Julient:Okay, I will have a beer.

Waitress:I don't think he's grasping the concept. Look, we've got Iced Tea, Lemonade, Coca Cola, Sprite, or Root Beer.

Julient:(Gives weird look to waitress)

Waitress:(Raises eyebrows at Julient)

Julient:(pause) What's Root Beer?

Daniel:Okay, I will have a Sprite.

Marcel:Me too.

Daniel:All Sprite.

Zero:Idiots. (Pulls out a cigarette, and puts it in his mouth)

Waitress:(Pulls cigarette out of Zero's mouth before he can light it) And no smoking!!!!

Zero:No drinking, no smoking, what kind of country is this?

Never get tired of that scene. I also like the scene where Raymond shows everyone the car he stole, and he shows them how the car can bounce. LMAO!

Es cargo? HAH! Try escargot. But anyways there is a deleted scene where Harvey Keitel visits his brother in the hospital and his brother's wife is there or something and her cleavage reveals that she has had surgery. Harvey says "there is something different about you...did you get a boob job or something?" That was priceless.

Or when Harvey says something weird and then leaves and Abe Vigota says "what the *beep* does that mean?"

For me the funniest scene was the one with Frankie and Joey on the phone - that was totally hilarious :)))

Gee Frank, a tad hostile aren't we? Are you an ex friend of the director and just trying to get back at him or something? I guess all the other people who have posted and actually liked the movie do not have the gift of insight that you do. I guess all of those who found scenes funny are wrong and you are right. Your attack on the film and the director only leads me to beleive that it is personal.

Crime Spree is funny. Period! And the vast majority of posts will bear that out. I've seen it 3 times and still laugh out loud.

Oh, by the way, I agree with many others... the scene where Keitel calls his #1 is priceless...

IMHO, the funniest part is the whole opening sequence, starting with the flashlight and batteries to the fire and then the old man with the gun. I was laughing so hard, I had to pause the video for a few minutes to catch my breath.

You guys have covered it all. This film was funny as hell and the serious parts rocked too.

The shoot-out in the bar.

The deaf thug.

The robbery.

the Latin gang leader running around looking for his car.

Just for the record, I'm not a Dude, I'm a Dudette!

reply

Yes to all of those, and also the scene in the French bar where Renaud (Zero) and Hallyday (Marcel) kept switching the radio over to their own songs, especially when you realise it actually IS their own songs.
