Did Kimberly and Thomas die? At the end they presumably beat death and were the only ones to live, but a friend of mine said it was later revealed that they died. Is this true?

Yes there death is revealed in a newspaper in FD3, but you can choose not to read it, so you may not have seen it. However, not reading about a death doesn't change history, so they are dead in canon.

My favorite Final Destination is the 4th – DEAL with it!

They died in the alternative ending which is not a canon. They are alive, I think
