I know they survived the movie. Did they survive indefinitely though, truly beat death's design for good (until of course their truly natural, inevitable, likely old age deaths)?

Having said that, would it had really hurt to put two shots of a newspaper in a 93 minute movie?
I think they're alive and the new life worked. What confirms it for me is that is all the other FD movies end with the main characters realising that death is still after them, while in this movie it end someone else dying, the only realisation Kimberly and Burke come to at the end is that death is still there and other people are not safe. The newspaper in FD3 is not canon, unless it's you make it canon as your permanent option on the dvd, but even the whoever wrote it got things wrong like calling Route 23 'Route 180'.
