This movie is the #1 reason I hate driving on highways!

I mean, I didn't like driving on highways to begin with, but this movie solidified it for me. Every time I'm on one and I have to pass a truck, this movie is all I can think about. Suffice it to say, I try and take the back roads whenever possible!

Heaven help me if Highway to Hell ever comes on the radio!!

I'm like that after seeing this film. Although, after seeing Wrong Turn, I'm not a fan of back roads either

Doesn't matter where you are. When your time is up, it's up. You could be in the shower, taking a dump, walking down the street, on a picnic. There is no escaping.

I'm not one to nitpick or anything, but taking the back roads is actually riskier than driving on the highway. Now don't get me wrong I like the back roads myself ( particularly for the scenery and out of the way places ), however statistics don't lie in showing that you're safer on the interstate highway than the back roads.

Now you might be saying to yourself but the back roads have a lower speed-limit, while this may be partially true ( in my travels through parts of Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Maryland I have traveled many a back road with one travel lane in each direction ) the speed-limit on quite a few is actually as high as 50mph on a two lane road. I can assure you, that you would probably SH*T yer pants when I did the drive from Altoona, PA to Gettysburg, PA two lanes and a lot of elevation changes to boot. Was a fun drive, in my lonesome. These are also the roads that provide the greatest risk of the more deadly head-on collisions because you have distracted, inattentive, drunk, or just plain aggressive drivers plying these roads and crossing those double yellow lines.

As for tractor-trailers on the interstate highway system I feel safest when around semi-trucks. These are professional drivers, who have probably logged more highway miles than anyone posting on IMDB. They have a lot of responsibilities in driving a vehicle that large, they understand that and don't take unnecessary risks that those in sedans or SUVS can and do often take.

Coincidentally you're actually safer taking mass transportation or air transportation where applicable as they are hands down safer than road transportation. More deaths per/mile for cars than planes and trains combined.

I have never liked being in a car near a tractor trailer! Even as a kid they made me nervous. I too prefer the back roads.

Knowing you, I can understand why you'd prefer the "back roads." 😘
