What is with the constant rain?
Is it some sort of nod to Blade Runner? Is it an allusion to climate change/global warming?
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Depression maybe, rain makes some people feel depressed. The movie had that as one of its themes.
shareI have a few ideas on the Rain and what ABSOLUTELY Blew My Mind was one particular scene...
First I'd like to say that Blade Runner was obviously an influence to this film. The umbrellas and all, it was definitely right out of BR but I think that's the only way it relates. You could see AND hear 2001-ASO throughout the entire film. Martinez's score was very much paying homage. The Tarkovsky Version also popped into my head a few times, just a few scenes and really that's about all. Soderberg was definitely doing his own thing here. It's relation was mostly to the Novel rather than the first film.
But anyways, back to the rain... Towards the end of the film, we get another shot that is strictly Rain Drops... I believe they were on some blinders or maybe just the window itself, but that's not really important. The point is, what I thought of IMMEDIATELY was how Rain actually holds a big part of my Memory. I have strong memories of myself in all sorts of situations during which it Rained, and most of these are actually Very FOND Memories as well... And in that moment, I thought of how Rain reminds me of what it's like to LIVE ON EARTH. It was a weird little moment. For whatever reason, my Brain thought of Life. Then, not a moment later, we hear Clooney utter the word "EARTH" as the first word in the little epilogue of the film. I'm sure it's just a strange coincidence but like I said, I was literally blown away. Just in absolute shock from it all.
