Holy crap! You gotta read this 'bout Snoop
Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson is a convicted murderer. She served 6 years on a double 8 year consecutive prison sentence for 2nd degree murder in the homicide of a young girl. She was 14 but tried as an adult. She even wrote a book about her poor pathetic young life.
You think that's bad, read on;
In 'The Wire' she plays the part of (get this) Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson, which is the actresses real name.
But it gets even better;
Her 'street' nickname on the show is 'Snoop', which is also her real nickname. A friend of hers who sent her money while she was in prison, gave her that nickname. She finally decided to go clean when the dude up and got himself shot to death.
I'm just wondering...well, a few things...how the hell does this woman go from murder to 6 year prison sentence to writing a tell-tale book to an actress...and to beat that, how the hell does casting put this woman on a crime/drug/murder show where she possibly killed as many, or more people than anyone else?
Was casting in a pinch, that they couldn't find someone who could play the part realistically enough, so they just say 'hey, let's get someone we don't have to teach'?
I mean this woman knows exactly what it's like to be behind the trigger of a gun and see what it's really like to blow someone's head off! I wonder if playing the part was some sort of a release for her? You think every time she pulled the trigger on the set she envisioned the murder she committed?
And what about the actors who had to face up to her when she shot them. You think every time she was called up to 'off' the next guy, that on-stage 'victim' didn't have the props department check double check and triple check the prop gun...and even then, you have to stare into the eyes of a convicted murderer as they pretend to shoot you. I wonder how many 'Snoop's' show 'victims' had something to say about all this prior to their scene?
To sum it up, her stage name Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson is her exact real name both on and off the set.
Again, perhaps the writers felt she 'had it all'...what's there they could possibly improve on.
Kinda like if they need an actor to play the part of a double murderer, call O.J., he'd play it best.
If I had been hired for the show I don't think I could've dealt with facing her with a gun in her hand.
I wonder if they shook her down every time she got on the set.
Ssshhheeeeeeeeeiiittt!!
