what was Tim Allen's life in the "off-season" like?

it has been mentioned that he must return around thanksgiving so what did he do from Boxing Day till Thanksgiving?

I kind of assume that since he had his relationship restored with his son, and since Peter Boyle fired him he probably took up a permanent residence at the Pole

my other theory is he got a heck of a promotion and used his powers to live both lives

i'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but I wonder this

He lives full time at the pole. He was given til Thanksgiving in the first movie so that he had time to get his affairs in order.

The man can zoom around the globe in one night delivering presents to every house, but he can't keep a condo in Cocoa Beach for 11 months out of the year?

I'm pretty sure he does leave the North Pole every now and then for occasions and what not, otherwise Lucy probably wouldn't have really known who he was or been as close as she was with him...
