So what happened to the gay guy & the brunette?????!!!!!

They never explained it.

Last time you see the brunette getting pushed out of the car in the ending, and she never appears in the movie again.

Then the gay guy inside the car hits the brakes and the car flips. The car eventually gets on fire, but you never see what happens to neither of them..

Feel like they should have had closure. The only people who appeared at the end was the bond girl, dad and son, the black girl, the nerd, and the kid who locked everyone out of the bus.

Then again they never showed the other ones that ran off to the fields.

I was wondering about this as well. They never explain if they were killed or not. They simply let them go.

Yeah they definitely should've had closure because for me, they were the only too characters worth rooting for man.

I just finished watching the movie again, and I noticed that you can actually see Izzy crawling out of the overturned truck before it goes up in flames. It's around 1:24:50

They lived. Victor Salva even confirms their survival in the commentary.

After that traumatic experience, maybe they eventually get married. That kind of life changing event can change everything.

Realistically they all should've died. Many people have died from jumping out of moving vehicles, and she probably would've suffered from intensely broken bones and internal bleeding from jumping out of that truck moving at top speed.

The gay guy would've been crushed, not wearing a seatbelt or anything of the sort. No way he survived that.

The black guy was sitting in the truckbed when it flipped over. He would've been flung like a catapult and killed instantly upon smacking into the ground. Instead, he seemed relatively okay besides what looked to be a broken leg.

I assumed the first two people died. I can't fathom how they would survive that.
