Please may I have some peopls opinions!

Hey everyone,

I'm writing about the British Film industry with particular reference to I Capture the Castle for my Media Studies Coursework, so would really vaule your opinions, so:

Do you think that I capture the castle is a successful British film in Britain AND America, and why do you think so?

And also- what do people think defines a British film?

I would really appreciate your opinions, and feel free to email me further opinions at [email protected]

Thank you!

Ok here goes,
I don't know about America, I imagine it might not have done that well seeing as it is a pretty quiet film and there are no special effects or anything, but I hope it did ok and maybe it got a small cult following or something.
I think that it was well recieved in England and did as well as a film of that type generally can. I think a lot of English people maybe identified with the characters and I liked what the film suggested to others about some aspects of being British (I am part English).
A British film; obviously being set in England helps, I think what a lot of Britains go looking for in a British film are the working class morals that they grew up with (for examples look at all of the Working Title films), combined with humour(dry British wit is preferable). These films also suggest that being English is something to be proud of, and reinforce the old ideas of what being British really means.

Hopes this helps and is not too late!
