question???
Why did they change the names in the movie? I just finished the book just this morning. It makes no sense to change the names if it based on fiction.

I just read the book too and am now watching the movie. The name change thing really bugs me too. Also the way they have the daughter dying. It wasn't like it was that out there was a premise. It seems like it would have been just as easy to follow the book.

Probably the ones working on it hated parts of the book, so changed it. I don't know how anyone could hate any of it, since it's all so confusing, and it doesn't make sense until the end. That's what makes it so good. But this way, we know someone killed her, it wasn't an accident, or attempted to look like one.
