Bad direction
This movie seemed poorly directed to me. There are frequent slight timing lapses that are unsettling... and not in a good way. The acting is also uniformly terrible, which is another sign of poor direction. The camera angles are ordinary, and the blocking is strictly by-the-numbers. There was one nice Steadicam move that added interest, but that cameraman must have been sick for the rest of the film.
I'm always amazed when there is a crew of 50 and a couple dozen paid actors who manage to put together something as marginally professional as this. The story is reasonably decent, but they got the wrong producer and director to head up this project.
