Wizard plumbing

So did they have plumbing before it was actually invented? If so, did they just use chamber pots like everyone else and just magic it away? Lastly, if they just magicked it away wouldn't that be more efficient than plumbing?
I don't know why I thought of this, but alas, I did.

lol interesting though for sure. I didn't think about it.

Interesting question! I don't know how or when wizards started using plumbing. They may have invented it long before Muggles did, and just didn't share it with the Muggle world. Hmmm.....

Here is a piece written by J.K. Rowling on Pottermore which talks about the plumbing in wizarding world:

"However, when Hogwarts’ plumbing became more elaborate in the eighteenth century (this was a rare instance of wizards copying Muggles, because hitherto they simply relieved themselves wherever they stood, and vanished the evidence), the entrance to the Chamber was threatened, being located on the site of a proposed bathroom."

Ah, that explains so much! I was always wondering why the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was in the girl's bathroom of all places.
