Region 3 DVD Subtitle Flaw

On my R3 Korean release, there seems to be a flaw with the English subtitles; basically every time a character speaks, first their name appears on the subtitles followed by a colon, then what they are actually saying. This can be quite distracting as you tend to read the start of the subtitle first - obviously - and then you end up losing what is actually being said.

When two characters are talking to each other, this can get particularly irritating, as the character name appears each time they exchange speech. Not only that but every time someone opens or closes a door, or a background noise is heard, this appears on the subtitle too. How ridiculous is that.

Does anybody else have this problem? If not, I'm guessing its a problem with my own disc. *Its the EnterOne (Shin Cine 20th Anniversary) 2-Disc re-release of the film from 2008*

Cheers

I have bought 2 different versions of the movie via amazon (one being the one disc directors cut and another being "regular edition". both are the same way. I would really like a copy with good subtitles. anyone know a good version to get and where to get it? I need region free or region 1. provide a link if possible, it will be very much appreciated.

Nope, not faulty, but still annoying. It's like they took the script and pasted it on the dvd. I can see that she is making a disgusted face, I don't really need to be told...lol.

I had watched a downloaded copy of this movie a year ago and the subtitles were perfect..I finally got around to buying the DVD a few days ago and it also has this same issue. I was hoping to come here and read that the other version is different so I could buy that one now but apparently it isn't.

That's really a shame. I wanted to watch this with some people that I think would really enjoy it but it really does take away from it with it telling me noises and such. Also since your eyes naturally shift to the first word, I'm constantly reading the names which sometimes doesn't leave enough time to read what they actually said fully.

Ugh.. >.<
