Wow. Lai is impressively mobile tied to a chair.

Lai had some serious maneuvering skills if she could get herself and the rolling desk chair she was tied to, into the back seat of that car. Opening the car door must have been tricky, not to mention getting herself and the chair shimmied inside, minus the use of her hands and arms...

I think had I been her, I would have worried about using a garage tool to free myself instead of hiding myself (plus chair) in the back seat of a car.

This is all funnier when you see her on the chair in the middle of the road, unable to move a single inch when she thinks Frank is going to hit her with the car.

Ah well. Good thing there is the deliciousness of Jason Statham to look at in this movie to make all the plot pitfalls and unbelievabilities worthwhile.

reply

Agreed. Lai and her chair should have been part of the convoy, flying her ass off down the road in the film's final reel.

reply

It's not hard at all to open a car door with your hands tied behind your back. Getting the chair inside the car can be done as well with a little effort. Then you would use your feet to close the door.

The garage floor was smooth and flat so she could easily slide across. The road would be rough and bumpy and also you saw a couple of the wheels fall off while she was trying to move away. So nothing in this scene was completely implausible.

reply

Wow. And again, wow.

Fine. I'll agree one could probably open the car door. But hoisting the chair and your body into the back seat with your hands tied? Nope. Not a chance.

reply

Really? Not a chance? Toootally inconceivable? That's surprising. After all, you thought it would be difficult just to open a door with your hands behind your back.

If I made a youtube video successfully demonstrating this will you apologize and admit you were wrong?

reply

Are you a small Asian woman with virtually no muscles? Go right ahead.

reply

lol so now I have to be a small woman AND Asian? You think she wouldn't have enough strength to lift a standard desk chair just because she's a slender woman? Wow ok. That's like, sexist AND racist lol

reply

you wouldn't be able to get inside the car through the back seat door if you have your hands tied behind your back and your feet together tied to a chair.. you're nuts.

reply

Oh, you could probably do it with your hands tied. Impossible with your feet tied, as hers were, though

Death to shakeycam directors!

reply

Close the door with her feet....are you serious ? The chair legs would be jamming the door any time she attempts to close it. Not to mention the position she would have to be in to get her feet to handle.

reply

And how did she get to the garage without anyone seeing her rolling across the floor? I guess it's possible that the garage just happened to be right next door to the room where she was being kept and there were no stairs between them but you really have to leave every ounce of your credibility at the door for this movie. I still loved it though! If it had been anyone but Jason Statham, I doubt I would have watched it in the first place and definitely wouldn't have watched it all the way through.

reply

Also how did Statham not see her laying in the backseat with a chair tied to her (!!!) when he looked to steal the car... :D
When he pulled her out and she still had the chair tied to her, it was so ridiculous!

reply

Almost as ridiculous as parachuting onto a moving 18- wheeler, then kicking your way into the driver's side while moving at 60+ MPH. Yeah, right.

reply

K. All y'all need to be quiet now. I'm having a mental image of Qi Shu being "impressively mobile" while tied to a chair...

She was so hot 15 years ago. Damn, I'm old, and so is she.
