LOL i can't believe someone actually wrote that dialogue, and then used it in the trailer, thanks for explaining to us what a birth mark is, i'm sure theres people watching who have no idea and needed that explained...
LOLLL! Yeah, I mean, when you put it that way. . .
I am, overall, quite disappointed by this trailer. Granted, I haven't played any of the new games and am an old school fan from the 90s, but this didn't feel like MK to me.
Yeah and Scorpion didn't look anything like Scorpion to me, you wouldn't even know it was Scorpion if he didn't have the rope spear. He just looked like some Samurai warrior.
I am honestly quite shocked by the reaction. The YouTube comments are almost universally positive. I was really disappointed, though. It looks like it takes itself too seriously, isn't very fun, and also doesn't really take place in the MK world. There's something about the look and feel that is very metallic and impersonal.
I have been waiting for a new MK movie for a long time, so this is pretty uncool. Feeling right now like I'll just have to stick with the '95 film. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised, though.
Yeah i wasn't very impressed by the trailer, i will say they did good with Sub Zero, he does look like him and they showed a ton of cool moments with him freezing shit, kinda feels more like a Sub Zero film than anything the way the trailer went, with the studio logo freezing and everything and it showed him moire than anyone else.
Sucks they fucked up Scorpion, he's my favorite character from MK, doesn't really look like Scorpion and doesn't even sound like him, that "Get over here!" line was so muffled and bad.
I do hope we get the original Mortal Kombat theme from the 90's movie at some point, and i don't want no shit remix either i want the actual theme.
No i never watched that series, way back as a kid in the 90's i watched the Mortal Kombat Conquest series, where Kung Lao was the main character, that series was freaking awesome, loved it so much.
It looks like exactly like the recent mortal kombat games, which is why it makes no sense to adapt it to a movie, when its already friggin interactive movie.
I think that was just for the trailer...it'll be reversed in the film...something like
"What's that tattoo?"
"He was born with it"
"What do you mean?"
"Ugh it's a birthmark?"
Listen to the lines again...the it's a birthmark line is said sarcastically which means it's likely said last...they just flipped the lines cuz it cuts quicker for a trailer
Just wanted to let you know that one of the 2 main writers Greg Russo had ZERO writing credit prior to this movie. The other guy, Dave Callaham, is responsible for Doom (2005) and Wonder Woman 1984.
Apparently, he is also one of the writers for Shang-Chi and the legend of ten rings. Boy oh boy...
Considering the fact that the studio let this movie sit in development hell for SOOOOO long, it's amazing to me that THIS is the script they decided to greenlight. If they just wanted to make another shitty video game movie, they could've done that years ago. The long wait made you think it was going to be something epic.
