I'm a big Madonna fan. I personally think she's a good actress. Evita, Dick Tracy, A League of Their Own stand there to prove it. But... after Evita (for which she won the Golden Globe)I thougt that she would choose her scripts accordingly. Instead she preffered the idiotic The Next Best Thing to Chicago(initially she and Goldie Hawn were cast in it)and 2 years later she made Swept Away. I saw the last one a little over a month ago and it wasn't that bad as I expected it to be. However, I think that despite their good marriage Madonna and Richie don't match professionally.

I don't hate her and she has talent for singing and dancing. I honestly just so majorly do not understand how anyone can see ability in her uninspired and wooden line delivery that I've felt compelled to post about it in what is now the third thread.

She can play herself and do musicals. That's about it. In A League of Their Own and Desperately Seeking Susan, she was pretty much playing herself rather than acting. Of everyone in Dick Tracy, I thought she gave the weakest performance.
