Just saw it, not at all bad, REALLY......

I am not kidding. I am really fussy about movies. I hate spending good money on a ticket for a movie I should have waited for on DVD. 'Swept Away' is not that bad. It is not an amazing film but it is really a notch above all the romantic comedies recently out of Hollywood such as 'America's Sweethearts', 'Kate and Leopold' and especially 'Legally Blonde'. If 'Legally Blonde' can get away with being such crap then surely this deserves more of a chance.
There was only my friend and I in the session I was in so it won't be around on Australian screens for much longer.

I think you need to watch the movie again Mike. I dont think you fully comprehended the entire movie. Maybe next time take someone with you so they can help with the big words.

I have to agree with Mike. The film was smartly directed, and Madonna was by no means unwatchable. If she wasn't Madonna, and no one had ever seen her before and she just popped up in the movie, it would have been an entirely different story. People attacked this film ONLY because it was a Madonna film. And the dream sequence where she is in the yellow dress, is the BEST she's EVER looked. A nice little gift from her husband I suppose. Is it "great", no. Is it one of the worst films ever, definately not. A totally watchable and at times very funny film. Too bad more people like Mike can't just make their mind up for themselves.

I see what you are saying, I enjoyed the movie as a whole. Its one of those its so bad that is good. The film is gorgeous to look at, and I found myself laughing mostly at but sometimes with Madonna. The charade scenes was like the "Living with Michael Jackson" you just felt sorry for the person. The first thrity minutes before the "rape" scene, I thought was hilarious. But I had to get two haircuts before the last hours was done. "I'm not a professor"

Watch it and like it!
Its not the best movie in the world but not the worst too.

I agree that Legally Blond was much, much worse. People wouldn't love to attack this movie so much if Madonna wasn't in it.
