Most Overrated Superhero film!

X2 is the most overrated Superhero film. Here are the reasons why:

1) Introduced the concept of Phoenix far too early. Everyone complains about Phoenix in X3 but how soon they forget that Phoenix actually gets introduced in this movie and Far Far too early. The 2nd X-men film. The casual movie fan does not know who she is and the X-men experts know that her powers are not natural. Phoenix is a love story between Cyclops and Jean Grey, nuanced and intricate and should never have been rushed.

2) Treatment of Cyclops and Professor X. These characters, considered to be the heart and soul of the X-men had very little screen time and even when they appeared they got beaten too easily. John Byrne, a former X-men comic artist, once called Cyclops the Heart and Soul of the X-men. Terrible to see how Cyclops gets used here. At least in X1 he gets some screen time.

3) Fighting Humans. This movie fails to even appeal to the kid in us. Most younger comic book fans want to read about Super-Heroes fighting Super-Villains. With the exception of the Deathstrike fight against Wolverine, it was mainly mutants battling soldiers. How Pedestrian and boring. Super powered people should win against humans almost all the time. That's what makes them special. Basically the movie has to write in a plot where there are few adult mutants at the school to defend it.

Nope, that would be The Dark Knight. Any of the Nolan Batman movies actually.

Not really. Most people ignore it nowadays because they are in awe of the marvel universe.

Nope, I always thought it was a great superhero-team film! Best of the original three films! Gut-clenching action sequences, touching character moments, occasional wit, and my fave Magneto has a couple of awesome badass moments.

Bryan Singer may be a vile human being, but he's a damn good director when he's on point.

Nah. It's a great film that's some what forgotten these days due to the oversaturation of Marvel & DC films. You rarely hear these original X-Men films talked about.

When it comes to overrated superhero films you can look at Nolan's Batman trilogy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: Ragnarok and the Avengers films especially Infinity War & End Game.

But my points about why it is overrated have never been addressed. I'm not talking about this lone thread either. I'm talking about X2's many problems that have never been referenced.

And yes Avengers is very overrated but that has nothing to do with why X2 is overrated.

Spot on. Plus in my opinion, Singer moves things too slow for a comic film. Cyclops gets under used in most of the x-men films except for the last one.
