Is there prerequisite reading/viewing for this?

Just listened to this amazing Children of Dune score by Brian Tyler and am curious to see it.

Haven't seen any of the films/TV series in the Dune saga, nor read any of the works.

Do I need to see the previous incarnations of Dune to appreciate/understand this?

You'll probably want to watch the first Dune miniseries to have a better understanding of everything (Characters, plot, universe, etc)

Don't you want to become one with me? To be of one mind and body?

The score of Children of Dune is simply phenomenal. The six Frank Herbert books are definately worth a read. I do find my self becoming paranoid during the beginning of Dune. You start double checking the doors are locked. You become aware of exit points in unfamiliar spaces and checking for what you could use for improvised weapons to defend yourself. You also become very aware of water as a precious comodity. You'll turn the tap of a bit sooner and a bit tighter. I find it to be profoundly affecting. The David Lynch film is about 2 hours to short but beautiful in its own way, but very confusing. John Harrison version of the story I think will be the definative filmed version. It's theatrical, over the top but he gets it. He wrote the Children of Dune screenplay. It combines Dune Messiah and Children of Dune books. I feel this miniseries is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately Brian Herberts prequels and sequels are little more than adolescent, boys own adventure, fan fiction. They are also sweepingly innaccurate and disrespectful of Frank Herbert's work.
I love Frank Herbert's universe. It's terrifying and beautiful and deeply moving. You'd hear that in the Children of Dune score.
The good thing about the Dune books is that they're all easy to find in second hand shops.
Get to it.
All the best,
