McAvoy was awesome, Newman was awesome, Kodetova was awesome, McNeil is always friggin awesome.
But did anyone besides me think that the girl playing Alia was absolutely terrible? Every scene feels like she's overacting, even when she's not playing the insane, possessed pre-born. It's difficult for me to watch the Children of Dune miniseries, and that's a pain in my ass, because it's done reasonably well.
But Alia has to go. Can someone Photoshop her out? Please?
I completely agree with you that Daniela Amavia was godawful as Alia. I cringed every time she was on the screen. Considering that Alia is a major character, Amavia's poor performance ruined my enjoyment of this miniseries somewhat.

I think that Daniela Amavia was excellent, on every scene she is in, it's quit wonderful to watch her act, so...
And I have to say that Alia is one of the most interesting character in the whole Dune-verse. So it was a delight to see Daniela act like she did..

Her lines were terrible as well, not sure any other actresses could have played them better. They were it seems directly from Mean Girls, unbefitting a Queen of the Universe from a galaxy far far away.

I disagree. I think Daniela Amavia did a wonderful job in portraying Alia's inner discord and later insanity and I like her very much as Alia. Insanity is unpleasant... Some people seem to mistake the role for the actor, and judge an actor after his role (this refers more to earlier comments in this forum than your posting).
