What Went Wrong Here?

This was going to be the biggest movie EVER!

Personally if I were in charge of the movie I would have done it like the original comic where he's testing a Gamma Bomb and a teenage kid named Rick Jones drives onto the bomb site making Bruce go out there and pushing Rick into a trench but being unable to save himself from the bomb blast which is how he becomes the Hulk. The whole thing with his father being the main antagonist was too weird. By the way I still dislike that Rick Jones has never been in a movie.

I think the studio heads rubbed their greedy hands together and didn't give a _ _ _ _.

There really isn't much of a throwback to the comic book here and there isn't much material here either.

Just a bunch of now date CGI...maybe people will think that's cool 10 years from now and increase the IMDB score.

Think the problem in using the original comic book origin is it's outdated because it had to do with the Cold War, perhaps a reactor explosion would be more in line with it, the 96 cartoon did that.

Problem with doing any live action Hulk is that people can never ever get out of the old TV show which is the blueprint.

reply

I liked that show but it was nothing like the comics and therefore should not be the blueprint ever.

reply

The TV show is no blueprint for a superhero movie. It was an attempt to add a sci-Fi twist to a show formula like the Fugitive.

Nothing went wrong. This is my 2nd favorite superhero movie ever, only behind Daredevil with Ben Affleck. What a year 2003 was for superhero movies

reply

No! Everything went wrong here. This film was a disaster.

Every film after 1993 on WIKI is a success and did monster box office worldwide and audience like it now because it's old and makes them fell young again.

yada yada yada...

This film was a disaster at it's release date. The critics hated it. The audience loathed it.

Suffering the worst second-weekend drop for a major film this year, Universal's comic book pic The Hulk fell to its knees tumbling 70% from its record bow to $18.8M. After ten days of release, the Ang Lee actioner did manage to cross the century mark finishing the frame with $100.6M. Poor to lukewarm word-of-mouth and a hardcore fan following that came out almost entirely on opening weekend are to blame for much of the decline. The Hulk carries a production budget of $137M, plus tens of millions more in marketing expenses, and should find its way to $130-140M in grosses from the North American market

70% in 2003! That's insane.

reply

Yeah. That was terrible. Though not as bad as Punisher War Zone which made around $20million world wide on a $30million budget.

reply

It's not like the 97 Spawn movie or Batman V Superman where I'm like "No no you fucked it".

reply

Not to you.
