Did the series end unexpectedly? Why?

Season 9 was short (13 episodes) and no kind of wrapping up was done.

From what I remembered, they were trying to do a full spin-off but it just didn't take. The writer's strike from a couple years before totally derailed the show.

It had a perfect finale, though. (The real finale, not that garbage spinoff that's been tacked on as a 9th season.)

That wasn't Season 9 of Scrubs. That was Season 1 of Scrubs: Med School.

He must have thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?

reply

No, that was AfterScrubs.

You know what noone tells you about cooking with the Dark Side? The food is really good!

It definitely did not end unexpectedly, but instead it went on too long and this caused it to go out with good riddance instead of the fond goodbye it had originally earned. It suffered from people who just couldn't let it go. Much like a love one who is very old and in poor health and the family still demands resuscitation even though it will result in a horrible existence even if a pulse is returned and eventually the even tougher decision to pull the plug. Sometimes it's better to let someone go when it's their natural time. They let this show go on too long and then had to pull the plug.

Yeah the actual good by from scribe for me was the beautiful scene with The Book of Love playing over it. The spin-off show never took off...could have been done better and I would probably have watched it anyway because of my love for scribe but oh well. Thanks for the memories sacred heart :-)
