Season 4 was very close to being my favorite. But here is why it isn't.
Just to make sure, I still LOVE season 4. I love its focus on torture in order to question whether or not an excessive use of it really is neccessary. That scene where James tortures his son had me feeling sick. That wasn't a strained situation, it was just pure evil. And Jack really goes too far himself, making you wonder how much of a hero he really is. I love the Beehroz family, and was deeply invested into their story. That too had a message behind it, being that if someone does horribly, horribly evil things with the reasoning "The end justify the means", are the means really all that good? Even Dina couldn't get behind all what her husband did.
Sure, there was no Kim in this season, but the incredible writing more than made up for it.
There are however, some very jarring problems:
1. What the hell happened to Behrooz? We never find out.
2. What the hell happened to Navi? We don't find that out either, even though he was even more important. Marwan was cool and all, but I think Navi was more intimidating.
3. EDGAR STILES IS SO *beep* ANNOYING. I hated this character. Most of the attempts at comedic relief with him fall flat! He got a little better in season 5, but in this one he really got on my freakin' nerves.
