I like it, part of it at least

Only seen season 1 so far and I have to ask, how many times are his wife and daughter going to be kidnapped? And why a safe house with 2 guards and obviously not bery safe, since they found it in a few minutes? Oh, and the senators son, for someone up there's sake, what kind of teenage boys gives a crap about what his father says? Maybe it's just me and the neighbourhood I grew up in, with ordinary middleclass parents, but we didn't exactly care very much about what our parents asked us to do (within reason) and I honestly don't know, then or today, about a single teenager that would say anything that could get him into trouble with the police.

Well, overall I like the series so I'll watch season 2 as well, maybe they got some feedback, the series lasted for 8 full seasons so it can't be all bad.

Season 1 is great, but a bit of a mixed bag. The writers only wrote the show up to the midway point, Episode 12. That's why that episode feels like an ending and the show sort of tapers a bit.

They did a little better without repeating storylines in the same season after that.

Overall it's a lot of fun and has some great action and elements of drama mixed in. I thought it peaked, in terms of story, with the end of Season 5, but some people still really liked it after that.

Seasons 4 and 5 were my favorite, and they work well off of each other.

Halfway through season 2 and it's a lot better, hard to stop watching, for food, water, toilet visits and sleep. :)

especially with the way most of the country is acting now with its newly elected President who won from the premium fuel of racism.
All four of the nominees were white, so how would race even play a factor? Nice try at bringing up a completely irrelevant topic into the "24" discussion though...

I will agree, that "24" having David Palmer as President was quite unique. To top it off, he was a well respected character among fans.

I remember when there were complaints about 24 not being realistic because "(scoff) there would never be a black president". Though I couldn't blame that assumption
The only people I remember saying that were bubble dwellers on the left. And when Obama was elected, it was the leftist media who were saying they were stunned and never thought they'd see the day when American citizens would vote for an African American. It's the left who is closed-minded. The right knows it doesn't matter what color skin one has, it's about love of country and defense of the Constitution. Obama had neither.
