What a coward Bundy was. Sobbing, and pleading for mercy, when they shaved his head, and put the cotton balls in his anus. Bundy, who had no mercy, on his victims, now asking for mercy. Bundy, who shed no tears for his victims, now asking for theirs.

For those who say the death penalty is pointless, I suggest you place yourself in the shoes of the victim's families. If someone like Bundy ever did something like he did to any of my loved ones, I would consider killing him myself.
Someone like that does not deserve the gift of life, and he would have never talked if they had listened to him and prolonged his death. He was pathetic. I do not agree with the death penalty most of the time, but in cases like him, nothing else fits. He was too deranged to be able to live.
I so agree with both of you. Most of the time, I don't agree with the death penalty either, but in Bundy's case, it was the only choice. God created all of us...He does not create "mistakes." Bundy was born like anyone is, and I'm sure he was a cute baby. But as an adult, he chose a path of evil. Which is tragic, considering his background, and education. He could have been a real asset to society, with his intelligence, like a lawyer, or politician, if he'd chosen a higher path. But instead, he chose evil.

And normally when people have catastrophic childhoods, they vent their frustration on the world in some form. Drugs, alcohol and sex are perfect examples. But in Ted Bundy's case, it was murder.

A person who becomes a serial killer CHOOSES that path and they are personally responsible for their actions. Bundy knew exactly what he was doing and that it was wrong, he just didn't care. It certainly implies some accuracy just by the use of his name. I think most people are under the false apprehension that movie producers can be sued if a movie is slanderous, when in fact, it can't be if the subject is dead.

He had a dysfunctional childhood due to the family making him believe his mother was his sister, but he was not abused. And the anecdote about a 3 year old Bundy arranging all the knives from the kitchen around a sleeping family member would indicate that Bundy was born disturbed and something was terribly wrong with him. He did choose to commit evil acts. Many people have gone through truly horrific abuse as children and yet they don't grow up to be criminals much less serial killers.

I think the scene was supposed to show you that Bundy was a big baby. Someone who could dish it out but couldn't take it.
However, this is a totally false scene and isn't what actually transpired when Bundy was executed.
It was not trying to gain sympathy for bundy, but to a lesser degree, the latter third was an attempt to show how we are not necessarily that different. the officers who prepare him behave in much the same way that he did, and seem to enjoy what they are doing just as much.

The only person's behaviour you are responsible for, is your own. Nothing that Bundy did justifies someone else committing murder, which is what the death penalty is.
See the other thread for long arguments for and against the death penalty. I don't have a shred of sympathy for Bundy, I just do not believe in the death penalty under any circumstances. I believe he should have spent the rest of his natural life behind bars until he died.

I agree with you there, suffering in prison would have been worse death
especially with the code of immates, usually child molestation immates get teh worse treatment out of them all, but imagine being the parents of the people he killed, the parents of the 12 year old he raped and murdered. But as for me I'm back and forth on the death penalty sometimes someone deserves to die, sometimes not. I respect your opinion and I'm not here to change your opinion, its just there really wasn't a single suitable punishment for that man.

I appreciate that the relatives of all of Bundy's victims I'm sure were angry and devastated by his actions. But that is why we have an impartial legal system (or at least aspire to anyway), and we have courts and prisons instead of lynch mobs.

It's just I can't imagine what the victims must have felt after they got the news their child, sister, etc was raped and murdered, It comes down to that If I go through that type of situation (Hopefully not, one should) then I could honestly say what I would do. I think he should of been brutaly tortured so he could feel the pain he put so many people through. Electric chair was a let off for him.

The man was a liar, a rapist, a necrophile, and most of all he was a murderer. He didn't even look the women in the eye when he killed them. He always caught his victims by surprise. He also killed a 12-year-old girl! A defenseless child.
