Is this a serious question ? Are you kidding me ? If there was ever a poster child for the death penalty, it was Ted Bundy.

Are you kidding me? not ONE person is intelligent enough to see Bundy as a sick man that needed help. What the hell is this world coming to?!!? Can his actions be excused? Of course they can, the man was sick! Nobody in a normal mind state could do stuff like that.....I didnt look through ALL 33 pages of posts or so but I got up pretty far and I did not see 1 post talking about Bundy's mind state and that he needed help. Killing him IS brutal AND primitive and doesnt solve anything. I think those people that actually came to see him be killed were pretty sick themselves to get off on that.....Bundy needed help and he never got it and thats why things turned out the way they did for so many of those women unfortunately.....Ted Bundy didnt belong in prison, he belonged in a mental institution....let alone being killed by the state! He wasnt "evil" as so many people put it, he was ill.....No one is evil, if a person does hidious things like this to someone else they are obviously sick...

As a person with a diagnosed mental illness, I find your entire post offensive and disturbing. Mental illness is no excuse, no matter how many people try to use it to justify vile, immoral, and evil acts that they choose to commit. He had a choice. He knew what he did was illegal and inhuman, he just didn't care. He was arrogant enough to believe he would never be caught or convicted. If I were to start killing, it would be a choice, not a result of my mental illness, and my illness would not be an excuse. There is no way to justify or excuse such acts, Bundy raped and killed because he wanted to, took pleasure in his depravity, and had no remorse. That is not illness, it is evil.

The hard core prison population doesn't look too kindly on serial killers, child rapists, pedophiles and child killers.

It would have been only a matter of time before Bundy was killed while in prison. Unless he was safely locked away in solitary 24/7. Oh the irony of protecting this insane man.

Many here are arguing how, if he had been kept alive, Bundy would have helped with solving crimes by other serial killers. Do you honestly think he would have been more forthcoming with anything deeper that the little info he had already mentioned in other interviews? I realize many here are talking about him simply being studied on a daily basis in a prison mental hospital.

IMHO, he was so conniving and crafty, he possibly would have duped the psychiatrists who were studying him. He was also crazy and crafty enough to possibly pull a 'silent treatment' trick, not saying anything at all.

A part of him knew exactly what he was doing, he was extremely crafty, he was a psychology major for Christsakes! He might not have had any remorse about the killings, but he sure knew how to charm women and get them to trust him. He would have continued playing mind games with the psychiatrists and other authorities, possibly not helping them one iota, until he died of old age, all the while living on the taxpayers dime.

Bundy would have been getting three meals a day, free health care, free dental work, meanwhile 40 million hardworking Americans, who probably haven't committed any heinous crimes, can't afford health care. Yet, there would have been a man who brutally raped and murdered all those women and a child, living out the rest of his days without one care. Something is very wrong with this picture.

Most here should recall that serial killer/cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer was killed while incarcerated. Sometimes a killers fellow prisoners do the work that the courts and jurors simply didn't do.

Yes he deserved the death penalty but at the hands of his victims' families. That way he would’ve experienced everything he did to those poor girls.

He was a wicked devil. Yes he deserved the death penalty. He was another Krug Stillo except he killed more people.

Krug Stillo is a frigid murderer in the excellent Horror movie the Last House On the Left.

So your happy for the state to commit murder on your behalf? That makes ALL of us bad as him.

Thank god i live in a country with no death penalty (U.K.)!

I personally so sick of this "moral" and sentiment showing up in movies, television, and in reality when people like you say it. Just because Ted Bundy was executed and killed doesn't mean that the people who are glad he is gone are "as bad" as he was! In what way can you possibly rationalize that?!

It's the same in so many superhero or comic themed pieces where the hero stops himself from killing the villain because they'll "become him". That's the most stilted, poorly thought out piece of dime store philosophy present in pop culture.

"As bad" as Bundy? Really? Because we're happy that a sick, perverted, criminally insane resourceful criminal who killed dozens and dozens of innocent women (of ages going to as young as 12!) is no longer a threat to society? That we're happy there's been a fitting punishment for a grievous crime? That doesn't make anyone who's happy about Bundy's death nearly as bad as him, we don't take pleasure in innocent people being sadistically tortured, I don't get why that's so hard to grasp!

He's not innocent, so killing him and being happy about it is not the same thing. Murder and it's morality is defined by the context of the action, just like any other human action, it's not wrong across the board, real life is not that simple.
