Did Bundy deserve the death penalty?

i'm in two minds about this... i just dunno...i just think underneath, he may have been a good guy.

reply

He was not a good guy, he was evil to the core. In the book "Between Good & Evil" written by a chief of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, the author had experience with Bundy and his interviews. When asked why he killed/how he felt about killing, Bundy replied that "standing over them as their breath leaves them, makes him God". He was fully aware of everything and completely insane and evil.

reply

I remember one of the detectives on the Bundy case calling him "nothing but a chicken sh*t killer!". This is true. Have you ever noticed how no serial killer has ever targeted 6ft 5" black guys who weigh 250-300lbs? Hmm, I wonder why?

reply

But do you think he should've received the death penalty?

Under the laws that exist i would say yes but i will never believe in the death penalty!

He murdered because he was evil!

So what is the state that puts people to death?

The same in my eyes. They also have committed murder!

Im glad i live in the U.K. with no death penalty, to calmly and reflectively murder someone makes us no better than the evildoer himself.

Should've locked him up forever i say!

reply

I WISH I'D LOCKED HIM UP... IN MY ROOM HAHA.
NO, HE DIDN'T DESERVE IT, PERIOD.

"Sandy n' myself r no longer engaged or 2gether" Now u can call ME Mrs. Padalecki

reply

NO one deserves the death penalty IMO

He was clearly insane and as such could not have been treated like a normal sane human...

reply

Plenty of people deserve the death penalty. Especially the bleeding heart liberals who'd rather have spent tax payers money pampering and coddling a man who killed hundreds of women and whose last act on earth was to kidnap, rape and slit the throat of a twelve year old girl. After the bleeding hearts they should go after the whores who marry serial killers. Those bitches really need to die.

Oh by the way all of you who dare defend Bundy and condemn the state of Floride should not condemn me for my views. I may be a very sick man who wants the very stupid removed from the gene pool.

Then again I may not be sick. I just might be sane. Certainly much more intelligent than any death penalty opponents.

From reading the accounts of his life and methods of death by his murder victims, I really don't think the insanity issue bears much consideration in his punishment. He was characterized by many psychologists as having a violent addiction to pornography as well as having severe necrophilia. After murdering his victims he would often return to the burial sites to dress up the corpses by putting makeup on them before sadomizing their dead bodies. He would even keep the severed heads of his victims in his bedroom in close proximity to where he slept. Several reports mention that the heads had the teeth removed from the jaws were Bundy would perform unmentionable acts of sadomy until decomposition had set in. Was Ted Bundy insane? Criminaly insane maybe, but I really don't care. The sheer scope of his victims and the violent means in which they met their death warrant absolutely no sympathy from me. I see it as beeing quite simple. He was a detriment to American society and as a result he was eliminated by execution. In this case it is was a right to justify his wrongs.

Some peoples ignorance i will never understand, fair enough your entitled to your own opion , but jesus what a *beep* stupid thing to suggest!

Now i have a machine gun Ho-Ho-Ho

reply

yeah, he deserved what he received. he ended and ruined many lives. it was speculated he traveled to florida because of their death penalty laws. in the end, he ended like his victims: afraid to die. unlike them, he deserved to. i'm not necessarily a fan of the death penalty, but since it's in place in certain states, it's safe to say bundy fit the criteria for it.

reply

I don't think Bundy was a good guy. However, I don't think he was evil. I find Bundy quite fascinating, because of all the horrendous serial killers, like Albert Fish and Charles Manson, for examples, I find the most humanity in Bundy. He didn't blame the pornography on his crimes, he only admits that it greatly influenced him. He once described it like an addiction. People who do drugs know it's bad, but once they start they can't stop. Murder and rape is the same, I suppose, only on a much more potent and effective level.

I am in NO way defending Bundy for his actions, just in case someone was getting that impression. He was sick. But like the judge said, he had such potential. Had he made other decisions in his life, I think he would have been decent.

Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?

reply

Theodore Robert Bundy was intelligent, (somewhat) nice, but not a good person.

I would never call him a good person. though I believe you can be a good person and still do horrindous things, but the psychologist he spoke to on the last night of his life said that he gave his life to God. I think that if he did, maybe he was changed but still, based on what what I have seen and heard, he is one of the most horrid serial murderers.

One of my uncle's friends in college actually knew him and was friends with him. I can't imagine what kind of shock this gave Bundy's family and friends. Also, it shows to the general public (including the victim's families) that your friendly next door neighbor, could be an uncaptured murderer.

I still don't believe that he should have been executed. They should execute serial killers. I think he would be a very good research subject. He helped a little bit with the Green River Killer case and I think he could help with others.
