Play by play announcer at a prison boxing match?

Why would there be a play by play announcer at a prison boxing match. That type of announcer are for people watching the match at home on tv, not live in the crowd. The live audience only needs an announcer for the fight introductions.

its to keep the crowed excited and hyped up, especially a home crowd. It happens a lot at inner city schools, at basketball games and also check out the And 1 basketball tour shown on espn. Its a good way to keep the home crowd into whats happening
