Will people take the time to check out facts before throwing around accusations?
I have no idea if or not Phone Booth possibly came out on release BEFORE this film but I can ASSURE you all that this film was actually produced first!.
Phone Booth was actually conceptualized with Hitchcock and a screnwriter, who didn't have the means to make the movie happen. Fast forward thirty years later. They were able to make Phone Booth as a low-budget film and have Joel Schumacher direct.
So conceptually, Phone Booth was imagined first, and the reason why I put stock in Hitchcock imagining it is because it's a very Hitchcock idea. Maybe not filmed as well as Hitchcock would've, but it was well-done, nonetheless.
And the other hand is, this movie was actually made first. But the studio decided to push it back so it didn't coincide so closely with the Virginia sniper attacks, which happened around the time that Phone Booth was in post prod. Since this movie was a lower-profile release, it wouldn't have generated as much negative attention as Phone Booth would've.
So, both conceptually, and film-wise, Phone Booth was an earlier idea.
And may I point out that I can only retaliate to the title of your post. The last sentence of your statement was not coherent English.
